# Update Comment

Use the Speak AI MCP server tool `update_comment` to edit the text of a comment.

## What does it do?

Edit the text of a comment. Only the comment's author can edit its text (403
otherwise). To resolve or reopen a thread, use `resolve_comment`. The change is
recorded in your Speak Notifications under Comment (type comment).

## Parameters

`update_comment` takes 3 parameters, all of them required.

| Name | Type | Required | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `mediaId` | string | Yes | Media id |
| `commentId` | string | Yes | commentId from `list_media_comments` |
| `body` | string | Yes | New comment text (1 to 5000 characters) |

## Behaviour

The Speak AI MCP server publishes these behaviour hints for `update_comment`.

- Can change data in your workspace.
- Can delete or overwrite data. Use with care.
- Repeating an identical call is safe.
- Stays inside Speak AI. Does not reach other systems.
