# Restore Label

Use the Speak AI MCP server tool `restore_label` to restore an archived label;
restoring a group also restores its archived labels.

## What does it do?

Restore an archived label; restoring a group also restores its archived labels. A
label whose name is now used by an active label stays archived and is counted in
skippedCount. 409 means the label's own name is taken (rename the active one first);
a merged label cannot be restored, and a label cannot be restored while its group is
archived. Requires the labels delete permission (owners and admins by default). The
change is recorded in your Speak Notifications under Label (type label).

## Parameters

`restore_label` takes 1 parameter, all of them required.

| Name | Type | Required | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `labelId` | string | Yes | labelId of an archived label, from `list_labels` with status archived |

## Behaviour

The Speak AI MCP server publishes these behaviour hints for `restore_label`.

- Can change data in your workspace.
- Can delete or overwrite data. Use with care.
- Repeating an identical call is safe.
- Stays inside Speak AI. Does not reach other systems.
