# Resolve Comment

Use the Speak AI MCP server tool `resolve_comment` to resolve a comment thread, or
reopen it with resolved false.

## What does it do?

Resolve a comment thread, or reopen it with resolved false. Only a thread's first
comment can be resolved (400 on a reply). Resolving or reopening someone else's
thread notifies its starter in Speak. Requires the comments update permission (every
member by default). The change is recorded in your Speak Notifications under Comment
(type comment).

## Parameters

`resolve_comment` takes 3 parameters, 2 of them required.

| Name | Type | Required | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `mediaId` | string | Yes | Media id |
| `commentId` | string | Yes | commentId of the thread's first comment, from `list_media_comments` |
| `resolved` | boolean | No | true to resolve (default), false to reopen |

## Behaviour

The Speak AI MCP server publishes these behaviour hints for `resolve_comment`.

- Can change data in your workspace.
- Can delete or overwrite data. Use with care.
- Repeating an identical call is safe.
- Stays inside Speak AI. Does not reach other systems.
