# List Media Comments

Use the Speak AI MCP server tool `list_media_comments` to list the comment threads
on a media file, with the file's current transcriptRevision.

## What does it do?

List the comment threads on a media file, with the file's current
transcriptRevision. Each thread is its first comment with `replies` (oldest first).
A comment on words carries an anchor (startWord, endWord, exact, times, status as in
`list_media_labels`); a whole-file comment has none. A deleted first comment that
has replies stays with an empty body and isDeleted true. Anyone who can open the
file can read its comments.

## Parameters

`list_media_comments` takes 2 parameters, 1 of them required.

| Name | Type | Required | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `mediaId` | string | Yes | Media id |
| `filter` | enum | No | all (default), open or resolved threads, or file for whole-file comments only |

## Behaviour

The Speak AI MCP server publishes these behaviour hints for `list_media_comments`.

- Only reads data. Does not modify your workspace.
- Does not delete or overwrite existing data.
- Repeating an identical call is safe.
- Stays inside Speak AI. Does not reach other systems.
