# Archive Label

`archive_label` is a tool in the Speak AI MCP server. Archive a label so it can no
longer be applied; archiving a group archives its labels too.

## What does it do?

Archive a label so it can no longer be applied; archiving a group archives its
labels too. Labels already applied to transcripts stay where they are, and
`restore_label` undoes this. Safe to repeat. Returns archivedCount. Requires the
labels delete permission (owners and admins by default). The change is recorded in
your Speak Notifications under Label (type label).

## Parameters

`archive_label` takes 1 parameter, all of them required.

| Name | Type | Required | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `labelId` | string | Yes | labelId from `list_labels` |

## Behaviour

The Speak AI MCP server publishes these behaviour hints for `archive_label`.

- Can change data in your workspace.
- Can delete or overwrite data. Use with care.
- Repeating an identical call is safe.
- Stays inside Speak AI. Does not reach other systems.
