# Account setup


You need a Speak AI account before you can upload anything, and creating one starts your [free trial](/help/account/free-trial/).

## Sign up

1. Open [app.speakai.co/auth/register](https://app.speakai.co/auth/register?utm_source=docs&utm_medium=internal&utm_campaign=signup).
1. Continue with **Google** or **Microsoft**, or enter an email address and password. On an iPhone or iPad you also get **Apple**.
1. If you signed up with an email address, Speak AI sends you a code. Enter it to confirm the address.

That puts you in your workspace with the trial running. From there, [upload your first file](/help/uploads/) and Speak AI transcribes and analyzes it for you.

Sign up with your work email rather than a personal one. It is what unlocks the team features, so it saves moving accounts around later.

## Already have an account

Sign in at [app.speakai.co](https://app.speakai.co/?utm_source=docs&utm_medium=internal&utm_campaign=login) using the same method you signed up with. An account created through Google, Microsoft or Apple signs in that way rather than with a password.
